Seacoast Media Group Announces New Subscription Options for Unique Local Content and Enhanced Online Information
Portsmouth, NH - November 1, 2010
Seacoast Media Group announced today that it will begin charging in November for online access to the Portsmouth Herald’s comprehensive coverage of the Seacoast region.
Beginning November 16, 2010, seacoastonline.com will offer an on-demand, Print + Online subscription. This new subscription combines the print edition, additional online news and information, and a replica electronic edition, ePortsmouthHerald, to bring the consumer compelling local content not available anywhere else. For new subscribers who prefer to get their news online, an introductory Online Only subscription will be available for $1.33 a week for full access to seacoastonline.com.
“Seacoastonline.com has established its value with readers and advertisers in the communities it serves,” said John Tabor, president of Seacoast Media Group and publisher of The Portsmouth Herald. “This shift asks readers to recognize that value whether they read their news in print or online.”
Print subscribers will be offered discounted rates to add the online content to their subscription: The Print + Online subscription will cost only 39 cents per week more than the print subscription. Current print subscribers will have free online access until their next renewal. Subscribers will be invited to register for free access beginning Nov. 16th.
Combination Print + Online subscription options for Seacoast Media Group’s weekly publications, The Exeter News-Letter, The Hampton Union, York County Coast Star and York Weekly, will also be available. “The community can continue to rely on the dedicated journalists who deliver the news and information that has made the Portsmouth Herald and our website the preferred choices for news and information in the Seacoast region,” Tabor said. “Seacoastonline.com will continue to be fast, thorough and accurate, and ‘The Source for the Seacoast’ for years to come for local news, sports, dining, entertainment, opinion and analysis.”
The Portsmouth Herald is introducing new subscription packages that will combine the best of our print and online news options. These new options are designed to meet the reader’s lifestyle and news consumption habits.
With the Print + Online subscription, or the Online Only subscription, subscribers will have unlimited access to online content via laptop, desktop, smart phone, SMS text alerts and email. These subscriptions will give the reader full content no matter how frequently they sign on to seacoastonline.com.
