Cape Cod Media Group Announces New Subscription Options for Unique Local Content and Enhanced Online Information

Hyannis, MA -- October 25, 2010 -- Cape Cod Media Group announced today that it will begin charging in November for online access to The Cape Cod Times’ comprehensive coverage of the Cape Cod region.

Beginning November 9, 2010, Capecodonline.com will offer an on-demand, Print + Online subscription. This new subscription combines the print edition, additional online news and information, and a replica electronic edition, eCapeCodTimes, to bring the consumer compelling local content not available anywhere else.

“Capecodonline.com has established its value with readers and advertisers in the communities it serves,” said Peter Meyer, president of Cape Cod Media Group and publisher of The Cape Cod Times. “This shift asks readers to recognize that value irrespective of whether they read the newspaper in print or online.”

Print subscribers will be offered discounted rates to add the online content to their subscription: The Print + Online subscription will cost only 39 cents per week more than the print subscription. Current print subscribers will have free online access until their next renewal. Subscribers will be invited to register for free access beginning Nov. 9th. New Online Only subscriptions will also be available. For more information, readers can go to: http://www.capecodonline.com/preview.

Our unwavering commitment to quality and accuracy, whether delivered in print or online, will provide value to the community for years to come.”

The Cape Cod Times is introducing new subscription packages that will combine the best of our print and online news options. These new options are designed to meet the reader’s lifestyle and news consumption habits.

With the Print + Online subscription, subscribers will have unlimited access to online content via laptop, desktop, smart phone, simple text alerts and email, in addition to the daily newspaper. This subscription will give the reader full content no matter how frequently they sign on to Capecodonline.com.
